I have learned that if I live my life in fear, nothing changes. I have to continue to face my fears as they show their faces to me. If I don't face my fears, I don't grow and I stay stuck in one place. I stay miserable and I make excuses for not taking charge of my life. My fears then grow more plentiful.
I refuse to live my life full of fear. As a child, I didn't have that choice. As an adult, I do.
I am worth whatever efforts it takes to change my life if I am unhappy with it.
You, too, are worth the efforts to heal. You are all worthy of being in a safe environment. No one else can do the healing work for you. You have to do it for yourself, just as I have to do it for myself. You have to take the first steps to change. As you face your fears, they become smaller. Are you willing to take that first step? You are worth it. Healing is worth doing.
Just thinking about changing doesn't change anything. You have to be willing to take the necessary actions to make any worthwhile change in your life. Are you ready?

Wonderful motivating post Patricia. Am going to share this in my Facebook Group and on my Facebook page. Short, to the point and so right on! Thanks.

COMING OUT FROM UNDER
Cruiseroo, thank you. This post actually started out as one of my comments on Facebook. I decided it needed to be shared.
Facing and working through fear seems to be the theme for me for 2013 starting with hitting the "Publish" button New Year's eve for my e-book.
Now working on 'the shift' with the supernatural and it's all going good.
I like to remember what Neale Donald Walsch said about fear:
F - false
E - evidence
A - appearing
R - real
Thank you for the reminder Patricia to persist when it comes to fear.
Pat, you are very welcome. Facing your fears can take tremendous amounts of courage & persistence & be so valuable to the healing process.
For me facing my fears means voicing them, to a trusted friend or therapist, or writing them. It doesn't get any easier, in fact I think it is getting harder and harder to allow them into the open. But I have learnt that the fear takes over if I don't keep taking these baby steps forward. Thanks for this post, I have been beating myself up over what I shared today in therapy - I hate feeling vulnerable, which is what I feel whenever I am honest about the thoughts and feeling sthat swirl in my head. I needed the reminder that I am worth it. Love and light XXX, Rebecca
Bec, Thank you for your comment here. I know being vulnerable doesn't feel good to me either but it is less frightening than it was years ago when I started doing it with people that I knew wouldn't take advantage of me. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable takes courage.
YES Patricia!
Great post. It is so important to self-validate especially when as children we were not validated and don't realize how much that was missing in our lives and was such a big part of the 'broken'.

Darlene, Thank you. You are so right. One thing I have learned over the years is that the places where I am mended are much stronger than the original. Good to see you here.
Thank for posting this, it is so true and motivational! I love what you said "No one else can do the healing work for you." You are so right, I mean there can be people that provide advice and assistance, but no one can do the work for you. And I agree healing is so very much worth it.
Hekrulewski, you are very welcome. Others can support us but whether or not we heal is our responsibility. Glad you like my post.
Sandy Shaw, thank you.
Love the attitude! love your blog.
Elena, thank you. Glad that you love my attitude & my blog. Have a glorious day.
You must be willing to take the necessary action.
Yes. This is what it is all about. My word for 2013 is act. I am focused on action this year, and not allowing myself to be paralyzed by my fears.
Thank you for sharing this with the Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse!
Tracie, Action is very important in healing. Sitting still, doing nothing, being stuck in blaming doesn't heal us.
I know all about fear. I carried a room full of fears with me and had to look at each one of them when I started to heal. Today I can recognize the fear, acknowledge it, feel it and then let it go. I don't carry it around with me today.
You are very welcome for the sharing. I look forward to reading the Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse when it comes out.
