I recently read a blog post by From Tracie called "One Word: Courage." You can find the post at the following link:

I also found the blog Grit & Glory which is where the One Word 2011 mission started. You can find the blog at the following link:

My one word to focus on for 2011 is "Exploration." How did I get the word? After reading Tracie's blog about her one word - Courage - I asked myself what my one word for 2011 would be? The word that I got was "Exploration."
As a Saggittarian, I love to explore and make new discoveries in the world and about myself. So this year, I will focus on finding and exploring those new facets of my life and my world. That could mean meeting new people, going new places, or it could mean reconnecting with some old parts of myself that haven't been around or acknowledged for many, many years. Exploring the outer and inner world of Patricia Caldwell Singleton is a good thing for me to focus on this year.
Though my blog, you are invited to come along for my year of exploration in 2011. Do you have some exploring of your own to do, some new doors to open, some new friends to meet, some new activities to learn how to do? What is your one word for 2011?
Patricia

Colleen, in your prayer simply ask for a word to come to you and then listen. Take the first word that comes. You don't have to like it or understand it. It will grow on you and you will come to know that it is the right word.
I loved reading about your word and what it means to you. I can't wait to see how the year unfolds for you!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Stacey, Thank you. You are very welcome. 2010 was a challenge in so many ways. 2011 is going to be a glorious year.
One word for me in 2011 is DO! Not try. Try means that maybe you'll work at something. Do is another story. Do means getting it do.
Debbie
Debbie, thank you for leaving your comment a second time. Do is a great word. A friend helped me to stop saying "try" when it told me that "try" is a built in excuse to not do something successfully.
That is just the way that I look at it. Trying just doesn't get the job done.
Debbie
Anonymous, I agree.
I don't think I'm going to ne doing this this year, but I saw it over at Tracie's blog and I think it's a great idea. So glad you're participating! Happy Exploring!
Marj, I enjoyed participating. You just concentrate on getting better and healing.
wow im glad i finally refound you
jumpinginpuddles, I am glad that you refound me too. It has been a long time since you visited here. Welcome back.
Haven't seen you around for a bit and wanted to check in and see how you are doing.
Hopefully you are exploring new things right now!!
What would my word for 2011 be? I think "finally" might work. Too much has been put off for too long. My wife decided she's scheduling a concert in June so I can share all of my music that just sits there. Maybe "beauty" would be better - there's too many beautiful moments, too much beautiful music, too many beautiful things I've been ignoring. I'll have to think about that one...
From Tracie, I haven't been around because my computer got a virus from one of those companies that wants you to buy their computer virus protection - the second time in 6 months. Those companies should be prosecuted. I just got my computer back today. It was in the shop for over a week. Healthwise, I am going great. Thank you for checking on me.
I am sorry that I missed being a part of the Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse for January. I will still check it out and read the articles.
Eli, both of those are great words to live by. I had to learn to enjoy the beauty around and in me. Music is such a wonderful way to experience life. I would miss listening to music more than I would miss my sight I think.
