True Independence Comes From In-dependence

True independence comes from in-dependence. This thought went through my mind today. We are not truly independent until we learn to turn inward and become dependent upon our inner self---that part of us that comes from Divine Source. For a few years now, my guidance has been telling me that instead of an outer teacher that I should pay attention to my inner teacher. We all have a connection to the Divine Source of all knowledge and wisdom. It is from that Divine Source that is inside of each of us that our answers come. I don't think I am going to say any more about this. I want you to think about what this means to you individually. Please share your thoughts with me.

So true in that in-dependence brings freedom when we look within. I never quite thought of it quite that way but you're right.

When we were born we're a package deal and complete not lacking for anything. Our lives become the discovery of what all that means and the key is trusting that.

We're like a mansion with many rooms only we seem to mostly stay in one room most of our lives. I'm wanting to move from room to room and see what each one holds as truth for me.

Thank you for a wonderful post. It makes me think.

Blessings,

Pat, I never got it before either. Slade calls these shining sentences from our guides. I had just finished writing an article about Independence Day and suddenly heard this sentence in my head. I love it when my guides speak to me this way---so simple and so profound at the same time.

Hi Patricia,

It's true on so many levels that we are our own teachers, our own source of power.

Others can always point the way, show us an interesting direction to explore, but each of us has to choose his path independently, according to his own compass.

This is our power, and we can't renounce it. The only thing we can do is to give it away to someone else (temporarily) - but it's still our own and we will always be responsible for it.

Vitor, thank you for sharing these thoughts. They are what I am learning in my life. Our spiritual journey is about reclaiming our personal power from the others that we have given it to---reclaiming the parts of ourselves that we have given away or denied that they existed. You have a wonderful ways with words as well as your art forms.

I think when we connect with our deepest selves we are then able to connect better with others.

In-dependence can also be interdependence.

Evan, I agree with you. In-dependence can make all of our outer connections better. When we are deeply connected to ourself, all of our connections are deeper because with our interconnectedness we are able to see God in all.

Patricia,

Thank you for such a thought provoking post! I think I tend to ignore my inner teacher a lot and usually if I finally listen, I lean a whole lot more from it! I need to listen to it more often and now afer this post, I am going to try to do it!

thanks!

Jenny, it is always nice to know that my thoughts have helped someone else to see something in their own lives that needs working on or changing or just acknowledging. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Dear friend,
I am so happy that you chose to share this for the carnival. I think being reminded to listen to that voice is so important. I also am so touched that here in such a simple way you listened, recorded, and then shared your insight for my benefit. I have not been recording my insights very often and I know from past experience that recording them provides a fertile ground for more.

You are inspired.

Vicki

What a simple, yet HUGE, thought. Trusting my own thoughts and feelings has been a work in progress lately. Thanks for this.

Kim, you are welcome. I am glad that it helped you with your own trusting ability. Trust has been such a big struggle for me as well.

I totally agree, Patricia! There is a peace that comes from our connection. But, when we realize that we have the same, equal connection to the divine as everyone else, we can stop looking to others for answers and go within.

Great post for the carnival, Patricia! Thanks for your contribution.

Great point Patricia....it took some time to become connected to the true "me", that essence of being. And it takes conscious practice to maintain that connection but this is where I was able to begin to see myself as my source and solution instead of looking to the world outside of myself for my answers.

Susan, thank you. It took me quite a long time to reconnect with my inner self, that true "me" as well. I didn't want to hear for the longest time that I had my own answers. I wanted an outer teacher to give me the answers. Some events then happened that gave me no choice when I could no longer ignore the things that my outer teacher was doing that went against my beliefs.
