July 2010 Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse: Independence Posted By Dr. Kathleen Young

When my husband gets home from running work related errands, we are going to drive to Louisiana to visit with his mother and brothers.  Daniel's mother was in the hospital last week with extremely high blood pressure.  She is home and better but we decided to visit her instead of her traveling to our house so that she can visit with our daughter and her four great-grandchildren.  It has been over two years since they have seen each other.

While we are gone, I hope that you will spend some of your time checking out the great articles from the July 2010 Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse:  Independence.  Since July 4 is celebrated in the U. S. as our Independence Day, independence is the focus of some of this month's articles.  Three of my own articles are in the Blog Carnival this month.  Here is the link for the Blog Carnival which is being hosted by Dr. Kathleen Young:  Treating Trauma in Chicago.  Thank you Dr. Young.

See you when I get back from Louisiana.  Have a glorious weekend.

I just saw the information about the carnival -- twice this morning. I will go check it out. Thanks for mentioning it.

Elizabeth, you are welcome. I have been so busy myself this past week that I haven't had much time to go and read the articles yet.

Patricia,
although the deadline was officially yesterday, I wanted to invite you to submit a post to the first edition of the SteppersWisdom blog carnival. If you have any post that speaks to a twelve step program or issue, it would be wonderful to include it in the carnival. I have a small selection of posts now, all of which are really excellent. I'm hoping the carnival will gain momentum with time. It seems like a great way to get information to people who may be searching for it, and to share strength and hope with those who are already in programs.

Shen, thank you for the invitation. I have several articles that I have posted about my experiences in 12-Step programs in recovery. I will find one to send to you.

Thank you for your submission Patricia. For a first edition, we got a reasonable turn out. I'm hoping this is something that will grow with time. Please feel free to submit again, and you can submit more than one article. Also, let others know if you come across something good.

The first edition was posted this morning at:
