Faith Is A Knowing

"Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive." Matthew 21:22

"Faith is not believing that God can,
it is knowing that God will." - a wall plaque that I read this week in the home of a new friend.

I guess that I have always had faith in God, according to the two quotes above. Even as a small child, I knew He existed and was in my heart. To me, He was never "out there". He was never separate from me. I came into this life knowing this. I used to question this knowing. I have decided that it was a gift that I brought forward into this lifetime, a gift that I no longer question.

Do you have any knowings that have always been with you? You don't know why or how they came to be with you. They just are. These knowings are real and unshakeable.

Hi Patricia,

Yes I have some information I came into this world with...a sense of being here for a reason and having something important to do and of actually having chosen to do it ahead of time.

I knew I had a mission that I had forgotten and that it was up to me to figure out what it was.

I was definitely gifted with a sense of purpose from my earliest memories and even now it is a feeling that is so central and deep to my core that it actually guides my life :)

Much love,

PK

" I knew He existed ", this is the fundamental principle behind faith in deed, that we are not alone, that God is with us and cares for us.

Because we are created by God, his creative energy and power is instilled in each one of us from birth, this is the spark of the divine. To have real faith we must first know the source of faith which is God.

Some people like yourself know God from childhood, others find God late in life, but when a human soul connects with their creator all the potential in the universe is layed out.

I have spiritual giftings that have always been with me but I'm just realizing the potential good they can accomplish. I have always seen images or heard words concerning people, I now have the faith and vision to use these intuitions for the healing and health of others.

As a child, we often went to small roadside parks and
grilled out breakfast. We also would spend the day
at a larger park, Tinker's Creek, with picnic basket packed to the brim.

I always knew being in nature infused me energy but it was
not until many years later in the 90's when I read
the book The Celestine Prophecy that the whole energy from nature popped so greatly in my awareness.

Patricia, as soon as I read your post I thought of the song
To Where You Are by Josh Groban....
Here are some of the lyrics and a link to a video of
the song.

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn’t faith believing
All power can’t be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
’cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above

And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Deb, thank you. That was my friend Carol, who called herself The Angel Lady speaking to me through you. She believed that her angels spoke to her through songs. I believe yours do too. Mine do occasionally. Josh Grogan was a favorite of Carol's.

Michael, thank you for sharing. We are all blessed by our gifts of knowing. I am just beginning to understand my own gift of healing. Blessings to you.

Paula, I have been on the receiving end of your gift of healing. Thanks for sharing part of your journey with me.

I think being born knowing is sometimes a blessing and a curse. It was for me because by the time I was very young (before 5) I wanted to know why I am who I am and why I was sent here. I keep thinking that I have to do something big in life but I don't know what it is. Before I understood and accepted that I had an inner knowingness about life and why I felt limited by the programming our society does in its education system, I felt very lonely and strange. This can generate a sense of isolation for young people born with this inner knowingness that there was something greater than what was being taught in school and by their parents.

May, I agree. I was born into a family that didn't share my knowings either. I have always felt different from my family. Others would even notice and comment about how different I was. That didn't help. It always made me feel worse. I didn't understand it until the past 10 years or so. My sister today will tell you that I am far out there with my beliefs. My family does not understand why I want to go to India or why I go to the church that I do. Finding this blogging community makes things easier. I have enjoyed your articles enough that I subscribed to them.

I too feel the presence of God (Higher Power) within me, but at times I feel that He has forsaken me. Don't know why He is so benevolent at times and so uncaring and callous at other times.

Aparna, thanks for sharing. I have, at times, felt that God had forsaken me, when the reality was that I had turned my back on Him. I was so angry at God for allowing the incest to happen that I cut myself off from His love. He was always there waiting for me to turn back around, to open my heart to Him.
